The Chair That Grows / Comic Relief
The 2007 Red Nose was the biggest in the history of Comic Relief with 'The Nose That Grows', which literally grew in your hand when opened. Taking this as our inspiration we designed ‘The Chair That Grows’ by upholstering the iconic Bertoia Armchair in an unconventional way, using noses donated by friends and families. The bespoke one-off chair went onto to be auctioned for Comic Relief at Bonhams Vision 21 sale in Knightsbridge alongside works from artists such as Damien Hirst and Banksy. British Fashion Designer, and furniture enthusiast, Paul Smith fell in love with the piece and displayed the chair in his Floral Street shop window in London's Covent Garden.
